I’m on a mission to enable CEOs and leadership teams to BREAK THE MOLD™ of long-time operating principles and conventions.

Alan Whitman is a seasoned executive and highly recognized leader known for his ability to inspire and navigate people around bold ideas and uncomfortable change.

During his nearly decade-long tenure as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Baker Tilly US, the CPA and advisory firm grew more than 3x, went global for the first time while expanding into 15 new domestic and six international markets, and successfully completed over 20 mergers and acquisitions in a matter of a few years.

Prior to becoming Chairman and CEO, Whitman built Baker Tilly's international platform, working closely with many global network firms and colleagues to build business desks.  That experience and Whitman's keen sense of the importance of culture propelled him to be Baker Tilly's global network Board Chair.  He also spent a short time as network CEO.

Whitman is known for his commitment to building highly impactful and effective teams, as evidenced by the transformation that both Baker Tilly US and the global network accomplished. His focus on people and intentional development has led him to continually seek out opportunities to mentor the next generation of leaders.

Whitman now operates an advisory business where he shares his experience to help CEOs and their key stakeholders understand what it will take to remain relevant and sustainable.  Alan believes firms need to BREAK THE MOLD™ of long-time operating principles and conventional thinking so they can inspire and navigate intentional change.

Alan's advisory activities also extend to assisting early-stage companies and their founders on building engines to enable scaling. Many companies have retained him to serve as an ongoing advisor for their scaling journey and Alan is a sought-after advisor by all types of investors, including private equity.

A regular podcast guest, Alan also serves as a Board member of AICPA.
